Not-Self Strategies

MechanismDistortion

Not-Self Strategies are the predictable, conditioned thought patterns and behaviors that arise from the open Centers. The Mind uses these strategies in a misguided attempt to compensate for the inconsistency of an open center.

Each open center has its own specific not-self strategy. For example:

  • Open Head: “Trying to answer everybody else’s questions.”
  • Open Ajna: “Pretending to be certain.”
  • Open Ego: “Trying to prove your worth.”

These strategies are the fuel for the overarching Not-Self Theme of one’s Type.
