Distortion
Distortion is the mechanical misalignment that occurs when amplified external conditioning pressures are mistaken for intrinsic internal signals.
It results when the Not-Self Mind, operating through Openness, organizes decisions and behavior around these transient amplified experiences rather than the form’s consistent Authority. This leads to systemic resistance and the Not-Self Theme.
Distortion is not a psychological failure. It is a predictable mechanical consequence of the interaction between Amplification and the mind’s comparative function under conditioned pressure.
